Elkins Invites the Public to the 15th Annual Ramps & Rails Festival

The City of Elkins is excited to welcome visitors and locals alike to the 15th annual Ramps & Rails Festival, returning on Saturday, April 26, from 10 AM to 4 PM, in downtown Elkins next to the Elkins Depot Rail Center. This celebration of Appalachian spring flavors and mountain heritage features more than 50 vendors serving up delicious ramp-infused dishes and artisan products, along with live music and family-friendly activities—all against the backdrop of downtown Elkins.

Ramps, the wild onion prized each spring in Appalachian cuisine, take center stage at this festival, with vendors offering creative dishes like ramp burgers, ramp pesto, ramparoni rolls, and ramp-infused sweets. Attendees can also explore artisan craft booths, enjoy live entertainment, and take in the vibrant atmosphere of historic downtown Elkins.

“The Ramps & Rails Festival is a highlight of our spring events, showcasing the unique flavors and traditions of our region,” said Elkins Mayor Jerry Marco. “We invite everyone to join us for a day of great food, music, and community spirit.”

Free street parking is available in marked downtown spaces, and some public parking can be found in the parking lot adjacent to Elkins City Hall (401 Davis Ave). Mountain Rail West Virginia is also offering scenic excursions through the West Virginia mountains.

Don’t miss this chance to savor Appalachian spring at its finest! For additional updates year-round, follow the City of Elkins on social media or visit cityofelkinswv.gov.
