We take the safety of the water we produce very seriously. All water-treatment and water-distribution operations are performed in strict compliance with regulations imposed by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, including licensing and ongoing training of all system personnel. The water that leaves our plant is of the highest purity. To further safeguard city water customers, we also perform spot-testing at various locations around the city on a regular basis.
To report a broken water main or other issues with city water lines or water system components requiring urgent attention, please call:
- Daytime (5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday-Saturday): Call the Water Department at 681-298-5200.
- To request after-hours non-emergency assistance via the 911 center, call 304-636-2000.
- For emergencies: Always call 911.
