Recycling Glass and Yard Waste

The City of Elkins offers a drop‑off location for glass and yard waste recycling. There is no curbside pickup is available. This page explains what materials are accepted, where to go, and what to do with other recyclables.

The Operations Department operates a drop-off location for glass and yard-waste recycling at 1 Baxter Street.

The Baxter Street drop-off site is behind the Street Department garage. To reach the containers, drive past the garage, turn right on Chestnut Street, and turn right into the gravel lot behind the Street Department garage. A Google Maps pin showing the exact location of the containers is available here.

Again, only glass and yard waste are accepted at the City of Elkins drop-off location. To learn how to recycle other materials in the Elkins area, please consult the Randolph County Solid Waste Authority.

Absolutely no other waste can be accepted. Mixing other types of debris with yard waste and glass can cause issues with recycling companies, which in turn could cause them to refuse all glass and yard waste from Elkins. Please do not drop off bags or boxes of other sorts of recyclables or trash.
