Bring Your Friends, Family, and Breath Mints: Ramps & Rails is April 25!
The City of Elkins welcomes visitors and locals alike to the 16th annual Ramps & Rails Festival, taking place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This annual tradition will be held in downtown Elkins next to the Elkins Depot Rail Center. The celebration of West Virginia mountain heritage will showcase around 50 vendors. Local businesses and caterers will be serving up delicious ramp-infused dishes and artisan products, along with live music and family-friendly activities—all against the backdrop of downtown Elkins.
Ramps, the wild onion that emerges after the winter snowmelt and quickly finds its way into Appalachian cuisine, will take center stage at this festival. Watch for vendors offering creative dishes like ramp burgers, ramp pesto, ramparoni rolls, and ramp-infused sweets. Attendees can also check out various artisan craft booths, enjoy live entertainment, and take in the colorful atmosphere of historic downtown Elkins.
“The Ramps & Rails Festival is one of the best things about living in and visiting Elkins every spring,” said Elkins Mayor Jerry Marco. “We’re excited to welcome local residents and their loved ones to downtown Elkins for a very special weekend.”
Free street parking is available in marked downtown spaces, and limited public parking can be found in the parking lot adjacent to Elkins City Hall (401 Davis Ave). Mountain Rail West Virginia will also offer scenic excursions through the nearby West Virginia hills.
Don’t miss this chance to savor Appalachian spring flavors at itstheir finest! For additional updates year-round, follow Elkins City Hall on Facebook or visit https://cityofelkinswv.gov.
