Water Treatment Plant
The Elkins Water Treatment Plant produces safe, high‑quality drinking water for approximately 4,000 city customers and two resale distributors — the Midland and Leadsville Public Service Districts.
We take the safety of the water we produce very seriously. All water-treatment and water-distribution operations are performed in strict compliance with regulations imposed by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The water that leaves our plant is of the highest purity. To safeguard our city water customers, we also perform spot-testing at various locations around the city on a regular basis. Further information is below:
- If you’re relocating to Elkins and have questions about pricing, view our current water rates.
- In the event the Water Department is taking on repairs, view any Boil Water Advisories.
- The Water Department has taken several steps designed to prevent cloudy or discolored water.
