Caleb Elmore Joins the Elkins Police Department
Elkins W. Va., February 13, 2024: Caleb Elmore was sworn in as a Probationary Police Officer for the Elkins Police Department on Monday, February 12, 2024. He completed civil service testing in November and will begin training with the police department before heading off to Basic Training at the West Virginia State Police Academy near Charleston at the end of February.
Basic Training lasts for 16 weeks. After graduation, newly certified EPD officers are paired with a department Field Training Officer for three additional months before being allowed to operate as a solo officer.
Anyone interested in joining the Elkins Police Department is invited to the next Civil Service Testing, which will be held on March 30, 2024.
