The City of Elkins Police Department is Now Recruiting
Elkins W. Va., October 22, 2024: The City of Elkins Police Department is now recruiting and has a testing date set for Saturday, November 16. Applicants must be at least 18 years old on November 16. Applications are due no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8.
Information about the testing date is as follows:
- Fitness Test: 9:00 a.m.
- Written Test: 12:30 p.m.
- Interviews: 2:00 p.m.
New hires will receive full benefits including health insurance, civil-service retirement, a take-home cruiser, and more. Applicants may be eligible for recruitment incentives totaling $4,500. Applicants who are already West Virginia Certified Officers may be eligible for recruitment incentives totaling $20,000.
