Sanitation Department Picking Up Christmas Trees Through Jan. 31
On behalf of the City of Elkins, the City Clerk’s office wishes you a Happy New Year and hopes that you and your loved ones enjoyed the Christmas season.
After weeks of revelry, the first couple of weeks in January often brings us back to reality, and that includes dealing with those holiday decorations.
To that end, Elkins’ Sanitation Department has just announced that it will pick up your discarded Christmas trees through January 31.
The sanitation crew is asking Elkins residents to do the following:
- Please leave your tree out on the curb.
- Trees must have no lights, ornaments, tinsel, or any other decorations on them.
- The sanitation crew will not pick up artificial or plastic trees.
The collection of Christmas trees won’t necessarily coincide with your garbage collection schedule. The sanitation crew will make regular sweeps across Elkins.
If you have any questions, feel free to call 304-636-1414, ext. 1437.
