An Invitation to Downtown Business Owners to Help Elkins Celebrate #America250
Dear Downtown Elkins Business Owners:
As our community prepares to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States during the weekend of July 4, we invite and encourage downtown businesses to help make Elkins festive and welcoming for residents and visitors alike.
In anticipation of the downtown parade and community activities, we ask that businesses decorate storefront windows and building fronts by June 15. Red, white, and blue lights, patriotic bunting, flags, and other themed decorations are strongly encouraged to create a vibrant and unified celebration throughout downtown. We encourage you to shop for decorations locally or online and allow plenty of time for preparation.
Your participation will help showcase the pride and spirit of our community while making downtown Elkins a memorable destination during the festivities. A coordinated display of patriotic decorations will enhance the parade route and surrounding activities, creating an inviting atmosphere for all who attend.
I will post and send reminders as we get closer to July 4, as we all know how easy it is to get busy and miss upcoming deadlines.
Thank you for supporting this special milestone and for helping make downtown Elkins shine. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact me at eplishka@cityofelkinswv.gov. We look forward to celebrating this historic event together.
Sincerely,
Erika Plishka
Councilor for Third Ward
