City Clerk
The Elkins City Clerk provides procedural and research support for the Elkins Common Council, maintains official records, administers elections, and oversees the civil service hiring process for police and fire departments.
West Virginia Code, the Elkins City Charter, and Elkins City Code assign the above duties, and additional ones, to the city clerk. Additional clerk duties include serving as mayor in the mayor’s absence or inability to serve.
Elkins residents who seek to amend a city law or enact a new law can visit the City Code Amendments Requests page for more information on the process.
For deeds, wills, liens, and vital records, please contact the Randolph County Clerk.
