Senator Nation’s Been There for Us – So Let’s Support D&E Athletics!

Did you know that Davis & Elkins College sophomore Lilly Wentzler last May was named the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Freshman of the Year? Or that another tennis player, Viktor Yanev, has earned all-MEC honors? Other athletes have also won awards and honors for their achievements, balancing those responsibilities with academics.

Tennis season is underway now, and some of the 20 men’s and women’s teams have seasons underway right now. The City of Elkins External Affairs office is pulling out the stops as we strive to win these athletes more support from Elkins residents.

There’s no question that Senator Nation, otherwise known as the athletic department of Davis & Elkins College, has been there for our community. Recently these student athletes took part in a downtown-wide trash pickup before the fall semester started. During the academic year, various teams volunteer for community organizations here in Elkins.

These athletes need our support. Below is the schedule for women’s and men’s soccer, as well as for the women’s volleyball team. Dates, times, and locations of Senator Nation’s home matches can be found in the slideshow.

Go Senator Nation!
