Free Monthly Life Skills Classes in Elkins Launch with Income Tax Prep Workshop

This Friday, community advocates and PRSS-certified professionals Samantha Ryan and Markie Jeffries are launching a series of free monthly life skills classes for Elkins residents.

The first workshop will focus on income tax preparation basics, offering clear, helpful guidance for anyone who has lacked confidence about filing their taxes independently.

Workshop Details:

  • Topic: Doing Your Taxes – A Life Skills Workshop
  • Date: Friday, February 6
  • Time: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Location: Phil Gainer Community Center (Small Classroom)
  • Audience: While the series has a special focus on residents navigating substance use disorder challenges, all community members are welcome.

This tax workshop is the first in a planned monthly series aimed at helping Elkins and Randolph County residents build essential life skills and confidence. We encourage the community to share this information with neighbors who could benefit from this resource.
