Davis Avenue Project (2027)
The Davis Avenue Bridge, which connects south Elkins to downtown, is more than 70 years old and must be replaced. The West Virginia Department of Highways (DOH) is leading the project, with Mannik & Smith Group as the design contractor.

“The Davis Avenue Bridge replacement project is scheduled to go to construction in early 2027. That will allow the contractor to get all their necessary permits, order all the material, and prepare everything. The contractor will start major bridge work after the 2027 Forest Festival. The bridge will be replaced and open to traffic prior to the 2028 Forest Festival.”
